Prom returns May 7, Tickets $50 Friday Only

Prom will return this year May 7 at the Perot Museum, after two years without a traditional dance due to COVID-19 restrictions. The theme is “A Midnight Gala.”

Tickets will be sold during a flash sale during lunches Feb. 11 for $50 cash only. After that the ticket price will increase to $65 from Feb. 14-18, $75 Feb. 22-25 and $85 Feb. 28-March 4. Prom is just for juniors and seniors.

French teacher Andrea Slaughter is one of the senior sponsors this year. She encourages students to go.

“It’s going to be a unique experience, a fun and memorable experience,” Slaughter said. “It is something that won’t be repeated next year.”

Senior Chloe Jones is looking forward to prom after not getting to attend last year, she says.

“Yes I’m really excited because I didn’t get to go to my junior prom and it sucked,” Jones said. “I was really excited because that could’ve been my first prom, but I’m glad I will get to go to my senior prom.”

She says she has already bought her prom dress and has a date for prom. Last year the school hosted a photo booth for students to wear their prom dresses and suits, however there was not a school sponsored prom.

“I feel like it’s important because when you think of your high school year it’s your first thing that comes up, I want to be able to have that memory,” Jones said.
