The NBA is considering expanding their current 30-team league by adding new teams to Las Vegas and Seattle. Decisions are expected to be made by the end of 2026, but this could mean revival for the Seattle SuperSonics and a new pro team for Las Vegas. The expansion would cost around $6 billion, but if this action is approved, the teams could start playing around the 2028-2029 season. Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr says that the SuperSonics were “one of the iconic franchises in the NBA.” He added, “They belong in that city, and a team belongs there.”
